About Trailside Park

A practical guide to Ontario campgrounds and roadside stops

About Trailside Park

Trailside Park is a campground and roadside stop guide for Ontario, covering six regions: Georgian Bay, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Algonquin, the Ottawa Valley, and Eastern Ontario. The site exists because most camping resources online are either booking engines with vague star ratings or tourism pages with stock photography. Neither tells you which specific sites at Killbear are on Georgian Bay, whether Oastler Lake has freight trains at 2 AM (it does), or that the "waterfront" loop at a given park is actually a 15-minute walk through marsh.

Every campground listed here has been visited or verified through direct experience. The guides note site pad lengths, electrical amp service, pull-through availability, dump station locations, noise issues, and the honest trade-offs that determine whether a trip is good or a waste of a weekend. If you are loading a cooler into a truck this weekend and need to know which site to book and why, that is who this is for.
